Alice is a registered psychologist having completed a Master of Clinical Psychology as well as a university-qualified naturopath. She is currently pursuing further study in intensive short-term psychodynamic therapy (ISTDP), a psychotherapeutic approach that effectively provides a road map out of one’s suffering by encouraging access to blocked or suppressed emotions. She draws upon these disciplines to provide evidence-based, holistic mental healthcare.
Alice works with clients who present with a range of psychological and emotional problems such as: Anxiety, stress, depression, irritability/anger, insomnia, chronic pain, relationship difficulties, grief, somatisation (physical ailments following increased stress), and substance misuse. She draws on a range of therapies including ISTDP, cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), depending in on the individual needs of the client.
Research has shown that central to therapy, is the therapeutic relationship. As such, Alice endeavours to be authentic with her clients and to truly gain an understanding of the factors that lead them to suffer, so that together she and her clients can work through their difficulties in a safe space.
